Why a pretty LiDAR map is only the beginning

Satellite imagery is strong at showing what the surface looked like when it was photographed. Topographic maps summarize elevation. LiDAR-derived elevation can expose subtle ground shape through canopy: a bench along a sidehill, a shallow saddle, a point, draw or pinch that changes travel and access. Those are valuable scouting clues.

But color relief is still evidence the hunter must interpret. RackIQ's long-term job is different: connect maps, LiDAR, conditions, cameras, stands, sits, decisions and outcomes in one hunting system, then let only validated signals contribute to The Scored Call™.

The bar it has to clear

An experimental read does not get to move a hunt because it looks convincing on a map. It has to beat what RackIQ already knows from terrain and cover, on ground it has never seen, and it has to do that without quietly getting worse in one part of the country to look better in another. Until it clears that bar it stays out of the call.

Where usable LiDAR is missing, the honest answer is lower confidence. A gap in the data never becomes a confident guess.
